Starboard’s innovative Take Off Air Foil is a compact, inflatable foilboard designed for easy transport without compromising performance. Built around Starboard’s patented Top Plate Technology, the standing plate is mounted directly to the foil base, placing you just millimetres from the foil for maximum stiffness, control, and direct response.
This ultra-connected feel eliminates the flex and wobble traditionally associated with inflatable foilboards, delivering a ride sensation closer to a composite board — anywhere in the world.
Updated & Improved Carbon Plate
The latest Take Off Air Foil introduces a refined carbon plate with improved usability, balance, and installation speed.
New elongated slots allow quicker foil installation, with nuts and bolts locking securely in place — just like a composite foilboard. The plate is now 2 cm longer, increasing the usable standing area for improved balance and easier take-offs.
A redesigned EVA deck pad seals the plate area completely, preventing water entry and keeping weight to a minimum during sessions.

Deluxe Lite Construction
Starboard’s Deluxe Lite construction is the lightest inflatable technology in their range and is now available on the Air Foil series. Reduced weight helps riders take off earlier, fly faster in lighter winds, and conserve energy with every pump and stroke.
Direct Foil Response
Starboard’s patented Top Plate Technology places your feet just 1.5 cm from the foil, delivering immediate feedback and precise control. Combined with the rigid standing plate, this creates a solid, responsive ride feel rarely found in inflatable foilboards.

New Vee-Shaped Nose
Inspired by the proven X-15 and Take Off composite ranges, the Vee nose reduces drag for earlier lift-off and delivers more forgiving touchdowns with quick rebound back onto foil.

Sealed EVA Deck Pad
A closed EVA pad prevents water entering the foil plug area from the deck, reducing water weight and keeping performance consistent.
Carry Handle Strap
A secure centre carry strap makes transporting the board with a mounted foil easy and balanced.
Curved Rocker Line
Lifted nose and tail rocker improve early take-offs and soften touchdowns, increasing forgiveness and control.
Compact Outline
Inspired by the composite Wingboard, the short, wide, balanced outline delivers excellent stability before take-off and makes the board ideal for freestyle foiling.
Adjustable Foil Track
Allows fine-tuning of foil position to suit different foils, rider weights, and riding styles.
Rail Edge Release & EVA Plug
The 3D rail edge improves planing before take-off, while the EVA plug seals the foil mount for smooth water flow. Together, they reduce drag and boost acceleration.
Welded Rail Technology
Heat-welded seams create a fully airtight, mechanically bonded rail — stronger, lighter, and longer-lasting than glued constructions. Welded rails are used across the board and foil opening.
